Inspired by architectural structures and my environment, the focal point of my work embraces transforming simple familiar objects into highly evocative abstractions. With an emphasis on precise patterns and close-ups, the imagery can oftentimes lead to unexpected perceptions of three dimensional space for the viewer.

Regardless of the medium, my focus always remains on the intricacies and integrity of each object resulting in sharply cropped compositions that express the beauty of the shapes and forms.

A New York City resident for the past five decades, my work has been included in countless group shows in the US and abroad. Solo exhibitions of my paintings, drawings and prints have been held in galleries and museums in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Toronto, New London CT and Dallas.

I have received a National Endowment for the Arts Grant, two New York State Creative Artist Public Service Grants, The Cleveland Arts Prize and a fellowship to Yaddo.

My work is included in major museum and university collections, as well as scores of corporate and private collections.
